Cielos Que Lloran

(Crying skies)

Te vi volar sobre cielos que te lloran siempre
Te vi caer, no te enseñaron que el sol destruye alas
Y al soñar te vi en un cuento tan distinto a otros

(I saw you fly across perpetually crying skies. I saw you fall. They never told you that the sun destroys wings. And when I dreamt, I saw you in a unique tale)

Mi vida deja de llorar
Descansa aquí tranquila, duerme
No sé si pueda despejar
El cielo que te llora ya

(My love, stop crying. Rest here quietly; sleep. I'm not sure I'll be able to clear the sky that cries for you)

Abrázame, es tan difícil que el cielo quiera volverte a ver
Ven siéntate, te explicaré como será tu vida aquí

(Hug me. I know it's hard for the sky to want you once more. Come and sit. I'll tell you what your life will be like here)

Vuelvo a soñar que fuiste un cuento tan distinto a otros

(I keep dreaming that you were a unique tale)

Mi vida deja de llorar
Descansa aquí tranquila, duerme
No sé si pueda despejar
El cielo que te llora ya

(My love, stop crying. Rest here quietly; sleep. I'm not sure I'll be able to clear the sky that cries for you)

Mi vida deja de llorar
La historia hoy terminará
No supe por donde empezar
Pero al final te vi volar

(My love, stop crying. The story ends today. I didn't know where to start. But in the end, I saw you fly)

Original Thoughts:

Tell me what the oranges taste like where you're from
And what skin feels like when it scrapes against someone you love
And tell me, darling, if love is the same
And if it hurts even when returned
In outstretched fingertips and lips that brush against each other

Do you bleed when you die?
Or when your soul does as it collides with another?
Because I've dreamt of painting the atmosphere with the light that seems to shine from your eyes
And I've read of moths kissing flames and shadows embracing the sun
And I can't distinguish between my existence and your own sometimes

Because I told you once that the sun did shine before you appeared
Only not as bright
Because I told you that you make polluted air taste sweeter
And soften the edges of desolation in my heart sometimes

And I must know of the world you inhabited once
The air that fed your cells and the hope that filled your lungs and the hormonal interactions that flooded your soul

Before you let me see the flecks of color in your eyes
Or fall more desperately in love
Or examine the moles that dot your skin
Uneven
Like my breath when you run your fingers through my hair

You've traveled distant galaxies, I know
Fallen through layers and dimensions of silent nothingness
Circumnavigating astral divinities to come here
In this moment
With your exhalations permeating my eardrums
And my veins pumping a rhythm that sounds like your name

Tell me, darling
Of these solar systems traversed
And if eternity felt like this

Tell me, darling
What it felt like to burn your wings
And if I was worth it?
